The meeting

The meeting

The volunteers from Eretz-Israel were deeply shocked when they first met the survivors of the Holocaust. The meeting resulted in a decision to establish transit camps and to gather the survivors wandering around Europe into them.

After initial organization registration, etc., the survivors were moved clandestinely to the South of Italy. All these actions were illegal from the British point of view, all was done in greatest secrecy. However, the Jewish volunteers used all the means which were at their disposal by virtue of their being members in British Army (transport, food, clothing & other equipment).
